We propose to build an AI-enabled interactive platform called Adopt-a-Sapling Platform, for citizens and local government bodies for choosing, promoting, tracking and maintaining sapling plantations. Citizens can record observations of their saplings on the platform.
Vision
The overall goal of this project is to increase the number of sapling plantations and enhance the chances of survival of planted saplings in Pune City through a citizen engagement model.

The project focuses on:
- Plant Native saplings & collect data
- Build & deploy an AI enabled IT platform for tracking & monitoring saplings
- Identify & onboard sponsors for saplings
- Engage with the sponsors & citizens
- Maintain saplings
Objectives
- To create an ‘Adopt a Sapling’ Platform as a hub for sponsorship, information, engagement and management of plantations in urban areas.
- To pilot test ‘Adopt a Sapling’ in Pune.
- To raise sponsorships for plantations and sapling adoption.
- To enrol and engage citizens, corporate groups in plantation and initiatives for nurturing saplings.
