At Pune Knowledge Cluster, Ms. Anita Kane is focusing on technology and data-driven solutions to address the key challenges faced by the Pune region in the environment and health domain. She was the first Chief Data Officer (CDO) for any Urban Local Body in India. As the CDO, she lead and drove the Open Data Program and the Pune Smart City Data Alliance for the Pune Municipal Corporation. She has an overall experience of 40+ years in the Information Technology field.
Her expertise lies in:
- Conceptualizing & designing projects across multiple government bodies
- Setting up and building alliances as well as Centres of Excellence
- Business Development: Creating offerings, Entry Value proposition etc to support demand creation. Won USD 50M+ contracts through demand creation. Building technical solutions and RFP responses for demand fulfillment
- Customer Management, Solution Design and Delivery:

- Delivered a number of large ( >100 person years) IT Legacy Modernization programs.
- IT Transformations for right-shoring, standardization and simplification for investment banks and commercial banks. Responsible for the initial assessments, solution architecture, due-diligence, transition management and on-going delivery.
- Program Management of IFRS9 initiatives.
She is a National Champion in Table tennis in Girls Singles and has represented India in the Asian Championships held at Pyongyong, DPR Korea during April 1976.
